San Diego Chamber of Connection

Ready to Connect

San Diego is one of the most beautiful and generous regions in the country — shaped by ocean and desert, cross-border culture, military service, innovation, arts, and neighborhood pride. It is a place where people care deeply about community and show up for one another when it matters.

Divided and Lonely

Beneath the sunshine and friendliness, many residents struggle to build durable, dependable relationships. San Diego adults are 12% more likely report experiencing loneliness, and 22% say they lack social and emotional support.

Like every city, San Diego struggles with division and distrust. We are a region of surfers and Marines, retirees and college students, churches and research campuses, newcomers and longtime residents and, a deep Mexican cultural heritage shaping a cross-border identity.

Our Vision

As a Founding Chapter, San Diego will help establish connection as essential civic infrastructure in our region. We envision a coordinated, cross-sector effort that aligns leaders, strengthens neighborhoods, and makes it easier for residents to build dependable relationships across life stages. Grounded in the Six Points of Connection and attentive to the realities of mobility and transition that shape this county, our work will shift connection from something left to chance to something intentionally supported, measured, and sustained.
